2012 State of the Province Address
By Oscar Moreno, Governor of Misamis Oriental, Philippines

With all that have been achieved and the positive impacts attained for the betterment of our constituents, let me further assure you, that we wish to leave the Provincial Government an intact and institution, moving with inroads made under my administration.

For the first time since devolution of powers to the local government, after 1992, this administration will be establishing a transition team, in an effort to facilitate the smooth transfer of governance to the next duly elected Governor of Misamis Oriental. It is an effort to establish a precedence in governance where the needs of the people come first, that even in the transition period, basic services will continue to be provided uninterrupted and undiminished. We hope that this regular report to the people, such as this State of the Province Address will continue, as has been institutionalized under this administration. For each occasion that I report to you, it has been a privilege and a pride, to share what we, the people of the Province of Misamis Oriental and the team at Provincial Capitol, were able to achieve together, at each milestone-step of the way.

This administration set its vision as far as it can into the future of Misamis Oriental and attaining goals and solidly laying the foundations for the future development of the province; leaving with something to build on, than to repair or to heal, leaving the Gem of Mindanao more polished and shining more brilliantly, than before, poised to take on the new challenges ahead.

I wish to thank the dedicated workers of the Capitol, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, through the years, the national government agencies and our civil society organization partners for sharing in our vision. It has been a privilege to work with you in our quest for better service, and a transformational and a mature stewardship in governance, in an effort to perpetuate within our province, a more humane and compassionate society now and for our children and children’s children. I also thanked profoundly the people of Misamis Oriental for your wholehearted and inspiring support. All of you have truly given your share in Polishing The Gem of Mindanao.
