Most of the hotels in Misamis Oriental are in its capital, Cagayan de Oro. Two classified first-class hotels are Pryce Plaza and Koresco. Pryce Plaza is on top of Carmen Hill, overlooking the city and the Macajalar Bay. The Korean-owned Koresco Hotel is in the golf course of the high-end subdivision Pueblo de Oro.

Broken glass and childCheck if the hotel glass is safe. One resort hotel accredited by the Department of Tourism (DOT) uses ordinary glass for sliding doors. The glass cracked when it was bumped by the webmaster's four-year-old son Diego, who suffered two tiny cuts on his forehead. His brother also cut his finger when he touched the edge of a shard.

The mother, an industrial designer, advised the manager to use tempered glass and apply a visible strip across each glass panel to warn hotel guests. Tempered glass is stronger than ordinary glass. When it breaks it doesn't split into blades but transforms into granules.
