Major industries. Most medium to large industries in Misamis Oriental are located in PHIVIDEC Industrial Estate. Major ones are STEAG State Power Inc., Philippine Sinter Corporation (now JFE Steel), Pilipinas Kao, Inc. and the food giants Del Monte Philippines, Inc. (DMPI), Nestle Philippines, San Miguel Foods, Inc., and Universal Robina Corporation.
Other major manufacturing industries:
- Coco-based (PACCO, Indo-Phil Oil Mills, Fiesta Brands, Cagayan De Oro Oil Company, Limketkai Sons Milling Co.)
- Wood-based (CATIMCO Group, Vicmar, Top Forest)
- Several agri-based companies.
Small and Medium Enterprises (SME’s). The 2005 Survey of Business Establishments conducted by the Department of Trade and Industry revealed a total of 10, 435 firms registered with the 24 Municipal Treasurer and two City Treasurer Offices in the province.
